Hi, I’m Jess - a wedding photographer based in Rutland, capturing relaxed, natural moments for couples and families.

I’ve always loved photographing real connection from the laughter, the little in-between moments, and the stories that unfold when people feel completely comfortable just being themselves. That’s exactly how I approach weddings: calm, unobtrusive, and focused on genuine emotion rather than stiff posing.

Your wedding day isn’t about standing in front of a camera all day. It’s about celebrating with the people you love most. My role is to blend in, gently guide you when needed, and capture the relaxed energy and meaningful moments that make your day uniquely yours. By the end of it, you’ll have photographs that bring it all back.

Before starting Jess Bowen Photography, I spent nearly six years working in a busy studio, photographing hundreds of families, pets and newborns. That experience taught me how to help people feel completely at ease in front of the camera (even if they usually hate having their photo taken). It also means I’m confident working in fast-paced environments and capturing real moments as they happen - something that’s invaluable on a wedding day.

Alongside weddings, I also photograph families, newborns and pets in the same relaxed, natural style.

  • Jess was absolutely incredible, she made us all feel so comfortable and was so patient with our boisterous toddler!
